What are Quadratic Equations

The square equation is a general algebraic equation: ax2+bx+c=0, where x is the unknown, a,b and c are the coefficients and a is not equal to 0.
The expression ax2+bx+c=0 is called the square trinomial
The root is the value of the variable x, turning the quadratic trinomial to zero, and the quadratic equation to true numeric equality.
Elements of the quadratic equation have their own names:
a is called the first or highest coefficient,
b is called the second, average or coefficient at x,
c is called a free member.
